Kalewater Cottage was completed in September 2021 and while it is searchable on Google Maps, the house does not yet appear on Satellite view. But don’t worry, we are easy to find: If you type in our postcode TD5 8AL, or Hownam, you will be directed to the village. Kalewater Cottage is the first house on the right as you enter the hamlet of Hownam.

Travelling from:
Glasgow takes approx. 2.5 hours
Edinburgh takes approx. 1.5 hours
Newcastle approx. 1.5 hours
Carlisle approx. 1.5 hours
Public Transport
There are regular trains from Edinburgh Waverley to Tweedbank (59 mins) It is then a short 35-min taxi ride to Kalewater Cottage. Please call Hownam Taxis (Chris Horton) at 07768070818
You can also get the 67 bus from Tweedback to Kelso and then the 81A to Kirk Yetholm, getting off at Morebattle. Depending on the time of day, travelling from Edinburgh takes about 3 1/2 hr, and 5hr from Glasgow.

Approaching from England by public transport, we would suggest travelling to Berwick-upon-Tweed railway station; it is then a 40min taxi ride to Kalewater.
